NEW YORK, NY - IFG Companies has announced that Anusha Anantharaju has joined as Assistant Vice President in the Corporate Actuarial Department. Anusha will be responsible for the strategic application of predictive analytics for use in underwriting including production processing and other targeted areas. She will be based in IFG's New York City office.
"We are undertaking the rigorous use of predictive modeling to further IFG's underwriting prowess. I am very pleased to have Anusha join IFG and bring the kind of algorithmic tools and skills that we will be using more frequently and in greater depth to improve decision-making in our most important operational areas," said Bob Linton, Chairman of IFG Companies.
Anusha brings seven years of progressive experience in predictive modeling, pricing, reserving and reporting within the property/casualty insurance industry. Most recently, Anusha worked as an Assistant Actuary at Liberty International Underwriters ("LIU"), in its Energy and Construction areas. While there, she conducted profitability studies, evaluated rate level indications, analyzed reinsurance structures and worked with underwriters and others to forecast business unit results. Previously, Anusha worked in LIU's Corporate Actuarial unit, where she performed loss reserving, while enhancing actuarial diagnostic tools used in LIU's reserving processes. Before that, Anusha worked for Liberty Mutual's Safeco unit as a Senior Actuarial Analyst for its personal lines business, where, among other things, she applied predictive modeling and data mining techniques to identify predictive variables for geo-demographic territory rating.
Anusha became a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) in 2014. She is also a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). Anusha holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently working toward completing a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics at Pennsylvania State University.
